Tarot readings

Recently I posted over at The Midnight Hour blog, a great blog BTW. One I adore visiting everyday even if I don't post. Well they had a guest blogger Karen Minnis-Guignard, an author, psyhic, and tarot card reader. I won a tarot and Intuitive Reading from her. It's a great read too. I'm posting what she had to say below. I'd love to know what others think about readings, and psyhics.

Tarot and Intuitive Reading
And the winner is: Wendy K.
TAROT AND INTUITIVE READING by KAREN MINNIS-GUIGNARD
Congratulations Wendy and thank you for your reply. I am doing your reading with the Rider deck of Tarot cards and with the assistance of my guides, Joseph, Charles and Juliet.Spirit says you are an incredibly gifted and generous person who puts everyone (especially your family) first. Doing things for yourself doesn't come easily and you require a push (so to speak) from your spouse to even go shopping just for you at times.Your cards in order are: Knight of swords, inverted, Ace of pentacles, Wheel of fortune inverted, the Empress, two of cups inverted, Ace of wands, ten of cups inverted, four of pentacles, inverted, the Chariot, and the Star inverted. Some of the messages coming through go with the listed meanings of the cards, but sprits often shows me images through the cards that expand and often present alternative meanings: so here's the summary for you:You show as a brave woman who normally meets challenge and opposition head on, however, as of late, you have taken a more passive stance to avoid conflict. This is wise for the most part, however, be sure not to lose yourself in compromising your character, there is a lot to be accomplished by you if you stay true to your nature. You have tremendous success and achievement in your cards, that book you have in your hands will go to publish quickly, so be sure to get all your typed and editing completed before the end of this month and make your submissions faithfully. Spirit suggests you have been apprehensive about approaching your top goal agent/publisher for fear you aren't good enough: go to the limit: you can't win the lottery if you don't play! Take a chance, the worst you can hear is no, go for it, you'll be pleased with your results. You are on a new and destined path including books, pamphlets and other forms of information coming your way. It is not coincidence that items are coming to your attention, read them and make use of what seems applicable. You are in a very fruitful and productive phase in your life, this could apply to both career and family, there is a strong possibility you will be getting a pleasant visit from the stork with a boy in the near future. If this does not apply in the baby department, it could still be referring to publishing, but spirit is very strong about birth and baby boy... congrats if that is to be the case.Celebration is bountiful, but some bittersweet, be sure to support your spouse in his accomplishments as his pride could be getting bruised with all your upcoming success. Don't sabotage your own, but encourage his too.Family and home is essential to you, and harmony is of the utmost importance. This is achieved very easily in your home and great joy is filling your home, family and own life. Very positive reading...Money matters have been tight and trying at best, but that will soon improve: it has created some tension on the home front that will be alleviated, however, you becoming a bigger breadwinner could again cause some discord: work to find balance and mutual support with your spouse. Be sure to keep you income increase quiet and not to alert too many as it will draw additional attention and create other dynamics you don't seek with others (looking for handouts). You are not an argumentative person by nature, so when people bicker around you, it's tough to handle, let them fight their own battles and come to resolution together: you tend to be the peacemaker and might interfere with their natural life lessons of conflict resolution. Plug your ears or busy yourself with something else while they figure it out for themselves. This could apply to children, as well as family and friends who get at odds with each other. People have a tendency to seek you out to intervene, but it's really not needed. They can handle it.Last but not least, spirit suggests you have experienced some loses recently that have troubled you, it seems to be more materialistic than mourning of any sort. This feeling will pass. We often lose old, unneeded things to make way for new things, even if we don't want to part ways, life has a way of moving things along despite our resistance. There are wonderful things on the horizon for you in the very near future, a few weeks to a few months, so buckle up and enjoy the ride, it's been a long time coming! All the best and I hope you enjoyed your reading. Don't worry about items that might not appear relevant. I often suggest to my clients to take what applies and tuck the rest away, it usually makes sense when you least expect it!Light and love,Karen

Gas Prices

Man I just have to say something about Gas Prices. They are driving me nuts for one thing. For another why is it so much more in some areas than others espeically if it's the same dang company ie WilcoHess, selling the gas? What the price goes up 5 miles down the road because it cost them more to take it to store #2 than it did store #1? Come on that's just bull. I drive an '88 Jeep Cherokee and as anyone who owns an SUV can tell you they are not the best on gas. However it does outdo my fatherinlaw's old truck anyday. It's not bad but it's not that great either. It took us $41 to fill up on Thursday and I'll have to fill up again probably on Wednesday or Thursday but we haven't really been anywhere since we filled up either. And I live in the boonies so the idea of taking a bus or public transportation just doesn't make sense. I have to wonder how bad it will get with summer getting closer. I think I'm starting to agree with my husband who wants to switch to a car that can use old cooking oil(yep there's a way to use old cooking oil as fuel, go figure). I know something needs to give. We are just spending way too much on gas that could go to other things, like books. Either way these prices are just outrageous.

OKay I've gotten that whining out of my system.

Author Signings

On Wednesday I headed West to an author book signing with Paranormal and historical romance author, Sherrilyn Kenyon. The picture above is me and Sherri. I had a blast. This is the second time I've met Sherri, the first was a luncheon in Ala last year. And it's my 4th author signing. I've been to the RWA signing in NYC in 2003, the luncheon last year, and a signing for Inspirational author, Don Brown(a great author who writes a JAG series that fans of the old JAG show would adore!) and this signing on Wednesday. It was in Charlotte, NC and was a blast to attend. It was a big group which will hopefully mean more authors headed to NC for signings in the romance genre. I got to meet some great ladies, laugh, talk books, and in general have a wonderful time. I wonder how many fans drive hours just to see their favorite authors in person. It's like meeting a movie star or something, only most authors are a LOT more down to earth. I look forward to attending more. Now to search and see if any other authors will be in my state or near it in the near future.

Easter and families

Well Easter had passed. This year was good. We went to my mom's on Sat and hubby's grandmother's on Sunday. The Kids had fun, but I must say that at times I have to wonder about families.

We didn't get to see my cousins' this year but maybe next year we will or maybe for the 4th of July. I miss doing all the holidays with them and seeing them almost everyday. That's one of my biggest regrets about living my hometown is not being with my family as much. My mom is almost 2hrs away as well and I hate that. At some point in the next few years I'd love to buy land and build a home closer to her. More midway between inlaws and her. I know my inlaws will hate that, since I know they won't venture to come see us. If they can't come 5miles why would they travel 45?

Easter did make me think about the Easters I had as a Kid. I think the one I remember the best was the year I got a plastic wheelbarrow. We all got one filled with candy and goodies. It was a cheap plastic thing but man we loved those things. My cat, Lucy(he was male but I didn't know that when I named him and he never would come to any other name, so he was Lucy). Anyway I'd put him in the wheelbarrow and my cousin would put one of the dogs in their's and we'd race.LOL. We had the best time just playing the yard no real need for alot of money being spent, no need to go anywhere. We had all we wanted. We had kids to play with, toys that we loved, pets that let us do things we really shouldn't have, and the love of my mom and Grandma. What more could we want? It was so simple back then. We didn't worry about money or paying the bills, or if things where going alright at home. All we cared about was how long after the lights came on would we be allowed to stay outside and play monster or statue and who would have to be it to start with and if we'd get to stay out later since it was a holiday or not. We didn't know just how good we had it. Now it's just another day to spend way toooo much money on things the kids won't remember what they did with in 2 weeks time. I miss the old days so much. I think it's part of why I have no desire to live in a populated area. I want to live out in the country where my kids can explore the woods as I did, where you can run all day long and never see a car come by, where you hear every animal in the woods at night and can name them, where life somehow seems less rushed and more laid back. I want my kids to remember a life a without being inside all day playing gameboy or watching TV. Isn't that odd? As a teen I was bored and wanted a faster life, I wanted to live uptown, I wanted to be in the middle of all the excitement, now I want nothing to do with any of it.

Just some pictures I wanted to post

Here are some pictures I wanted to post. The first is just fun. The second is our male leopard gecko. The 3rd one is one of our female bearded dragons. I took the dragon and gecko to my son's school on different days. The kids loved them.

MEN!!!

I swear sometimes I think life without them would be sooooo much better. I honestly believe men have a monthly just like women. They just don't necessarily have the evidence we have for it. I adore my husband, I love him dearly, but sometimes I'd love to send him on a one way trip to the moon. I know some of you feel this way as well. I mean I'll talk about tonight. He goes to his parents, calls me to say he's going by there to drop off the new floor for the other house(okay so it's a mobile home still we are putting in hardwood floors---don't ask this is another of those MEN moments) and I ask if he's eating up there. He tells me "yes if she'll cook for me". Umm she never doesn't cook for him! So I talk to him later on and he's according to him dog tired from putting that floor in a room up there.(just for storage mind you) anyway he comes home and after being here for 3hrs starts in on why I didn't cook. Um I cooked for me and kids at 6:30 when he was at his mommy's. I told him there was stuff in the mircowave. He didn't get up, so I put it in the fridge. He proceeds to get mad because I didn't serve him his food. Umm not your maid here! He knows I hate it when he tries to act like I'm his mom. Nothing against his mom really. She's great. I love her, but she's from a totally different generation of women. Add in I was brought up by 2 very independent women, and you don't get a woman who's gonna 'serve' her husband. Esp without him asking me nicely. So now he's mad I'm on the computer and goodness he might have to watch the two rugrats for 20mins without me. OMG that's too much to ask. Afterall he worked all day. All I did was take 2 children under 5 to the doctor, which took hrs of keeping them from destroying the new doctor's office, then went shopping for cold meats and stuff for the next week, with these 2 children who where not in the mood to be cooped up again in a buggy. Ohh that wasn't work. Naw that's easy. He just had to supervise some construction workers today OMG he did so dang much I feel sorry for him. Okay I know he works hard some days, but some day she does nothing! I mean it's not that hard to supervise grown men who know what they are doing and just need you in the building, boring but not hard. Okay now the babies want mom to go to bed so I'm off to sleep. Hope this Easter is a blessing for all.

American Idol and my day

Well Bucky is gone from American Idol, as a Tarheel, I feel sadness for him and the loss of him on the show, but I must admit I was never a fan of his. I will say I still think Elliott and Katherine should be gone. Something about both of them irks me. I'm not sure what. Next week should be interesting, it's getting down to the ones I'd hate to see leave, but know that one of them must go.

Now onto my day. Well my son has his Easter Egg hunt at school. It was the last day for students for a week as well. He had fun and so did me and his sissy. Princess of course thought she was just as big as buddy and should be able to do whatever he did. We left school went and got his haircut then went to get his glasses ordered. He got upset because we didn't leave witht he glasses. Most kids don't want glasses, my son is upset he doesn't already have his. Hopefully this means when he gets them, he'll actually wear them! We have from 3-6 weeks to wait for them to arrive so we'll see.

Then hubby comes home and of course being a man is set to get on my nerves. I'm not sure why,but he just wanted to iriate me tonight. It might have to do with the fact that I want him to fix my A/C! It's not working, now the fan won't even come on and I'm sorry but I don't want to be sweating before I get somewhere.

If you wonder about the fonts I'm trying to see which one I like best.
So now it's time for bed, if I can get off here and not go looking at others blogs.

Historical romances

I recently read a historical romance that had the couple going through many strifes without benefit of marriage or even really being together. And it got me to wondering, is this a better storyline to me or do I prefer the ones that have said hero and heroine in the struggles together. I find that it all depends on the writing. I think if it takes too long for our hero/heroine to finally get together I lose interest in the story. I want them to fight their battles together. Doesn't matter of it's an outside threat or misunderstanding or just self esteem issues. I think I do honestly prefer the couple be together, even if they seperate for a time, at least they where together. While some stories work with a couple being together at the beginning then being seperated then together at the end, I don't care too much for a story that has them falling in love then suddenly seperated without umm fulfilling that love. So I'm wondering what others think and prefer.

A new day

LOL a new day in the life of the zoo keepers. That's what we aught to be. With two kids, Princess and Buddy who don't understand that some things they just can't do yet. Like feeding mealworms to dragons. Not something a 4 and 2 yr old need to do. When my hubby gets up in the morning it's usually not long before 2 little ones are tagging along behind him to help feed the dragons and geckos. They thing it's alot of fun and can't wait until they get one in their rooms.

And the same thing happened this morning. Only with a slight difference. This morning at 3 am, the two little monsters where up ready to do daddy's work for him. Needless to say that they had not done it exactly right seeing as they can't reach the cages or display cases for the animals. Hubby had the honor of cleaning up the mess, while moma got a little more sleep. Afterall staying up until 3 am to play with a blog is important.:)

Now I'm off to read finish reading some books and see what else these little monsters get into. Tomorrow Buddy gets glasses and hopefully a haircut.

Tired so done for tonight

I'm done for tonight so ignore the errors. Iwill work on replacing things with exactly what I want tomorrow, maybe.

Wow this is fun!

Bare with me as I learn how to set this thing up right. Im trying a new template and trying to figure out how to use it all and get just what I want.
Hi Mad!!! This is fun.

Reading

Well I'm a stay at home mom normally so I read all the time, or whenever I can. I just finished Jill Shalvis' HER SEXIEST MISTAKE. It was a good read and I'm hoping a character named Hope will have her own story.

I have a new respect for teachers of toddlers

I have a new respect for teachers of toddlers after today. I helped sub at my son's preschool and I was/am so tired. After running around after 3yr olds and my 2yr old, I don't know how they do it all day and stay patient with the kids and don't go crazy. I had fun, it was great being around all those kids, but they have engery! I thought my two where overly active, now I know better!

Thankfully once I got my two in the car they went to sleep and went to bed early tonight. Which is what I should be doing instead of playing with this new blog. But here I am playing anyway.

I do hope they call again, while it was tiring, I'd love to do it again. I'm thinking of going back to school for teaching younger kids once mine are a little older now. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed being in a room full of lively kids.

Our life

Well we have an interesting life. We have 6 bearded dragons, 4 leopard geckos, I think 7 dogs, 2 kids, and us. Never a dull day to be had in our family.
