Eye Doctors, books and babies

Well my son's eye doc is retiring and there's not another doctor able to handle his case in our general area. So we'll have to plan on a 3hr drive to the eye doctor from now on. I can understand his doctor wanting to retire but still! I guess I'm just a little shocked and upset right now. She's been his eye doctor since befor he was a year old and did his 2 surgeries.

It's sad really. He's comfortable at this office and with this doctor. I guess life goes on.

On the book front I got Sherrilyn Kenyon's DARK SIDE OF THE MOON today. I can't believe I got it for $12.21!!! I'm thrilled beyond words. I also got Karen Marie Moning's SPELL OF THE HIGHLANDER and Kresley Cole's A HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER.

Now I just have to read them:).

My hubby found out recently that shopping with 2 little ones alone is not fun. He says he'll never want to experience that again. LOL now he understands why I say it's not easy to keep up with what I need to get and deal with them.

It's a beautiful day here so I'm getting off here.

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day to one and all. This is a day meant to honor those who have paid the ultimate price to insure we are free. My cousin who is in the Air Force was home for a brief visit this past week. He left to head to his new unit on Sunday and while I didn't get to spend as much time with him and his family as I would have liked, I do hope he knows just how much I love and admire him. He is a hero in my eyes and has been for years.

I hope that someday this country will finally realize that Memorial Day is not about having a day off. It's about remembering those lost to us during times of great need. Not all have died during war, but that doesn't make their loss any less as profound. And we as Americans should take a few minutes and remember those lost and those still working to keep us free.

There is a website, www.remember.gov that I think many should visit. It will give you a better idea of the loses we've endured and the fact that we are in fact free because of these brave men and woman. Many of whom are never recognized publicly.

I, myself just want to say Thank You to all those who serve in the military no matter what they do, for all their hard work. You make us proud!

The Last day of Preschool

Well my baby had his last day of Preschool for this year today. Now he's out for summer and he's said he's not happy about it. He liked school! LOL

I'm looking forward to not having to leave the house so early to take him, but I swear life is busier now than before.

I got 4 new books today as well.
And I'm looking forward to some down time.

Okay gotta run

Dental pain

Wow it's been awhile since I've posted. But then I've been dealing with aLOT of dental pain. Had oral surgery last Friday, not fun. Actually it didn't hurt in the office, but I've been miserable since then. I feel tons better today but still not myself. Hopefully soon I will be.

Let's see what has life brought recently. Well I've been writing, I'm kinda stuck right now. Since my hero for one book doesn't want to talk. Ohh no he's decided that he wants to lay low for a bit, he's not sure he wants to find love. And the other book I'm writing is going good I just ran into a snag I have to correct before going on.

My son's last day of school is coming up soon. He's not ready for it to end. He started speech therapy as well. So that's good. Baby girl will be glad to have him home for the summer all day :). She misses him when he's gone.

My hubby has been extra nice at times and then a pain at times. What is it with men? I swear they have more mood swings than women do!

Ohhh if you like to read or write or just help out with a great cause be sure to check out www.brendanovak.com and go to her online auction to help with diabetes in kids. It's a great cause and some great things up for auction. Certainly worth everyone checking out.

Okay that's it for tonight.

hugs to all

Kids and glasses

Well my little man got his glasses on Monday. He'll still have to wear a patch 4hrs a day and have drops for his good eye to help his bad eye. But they wanted in glasses as well. Everyone has gotten such a kick out of him. When we took the prescription in he threw a fit because he didn't get to wear them home. So we got a call on Thursday the glasses where ready. Well they where closed on Friday so it was yesterday before we could get them. He sat there while they were adjusted so perfectly and was sooo excited he got glasses. He had to show them off. Wanted me to go to Wal-mart cause he needs a blue glasses rag and a better pouch and anything else for his glasses. He wore them for awhile but I took them off so he could sleep and he's wore them off and on today. We are letting him get used to them with longer spells before making him wear them all the time. But so far he's excited about wearing them. He's so cute with it. Now Sissy wants a pair too. She must do what Brother does.

so now we'll see if this and the other stuff helps that bad eye at all. I truly hope it does.

Elvis and American Idol

OKay anyone that knows me, knows I'm a huge, HUGE Elvis fan. And have been since well since birth basically. Since I'm told I would stop to listen to him even as a baby. I have posters, pictures, books, CDs, tapes, Albums, shirts, a knife, money, newspapers, etc with him. So I was excited and nervous about this weeks Idol. I knew few would be able to do justice to Elvis and I was right. I hated Taylor's first song. I absolutely hate Elliott and Katherine. Both of the screwed up the songs IMHO. Chris did great with song one and okay with song two, Taylor did better with song two. But if I had to pick I'd pick Chris. Out of who's left he's the only one with the talent that needs to go forward. The rest esp Elliot would be torture to hear sing too much. Taylor I could probably do okay with, but the other two. I'd rather have my ears pulled off than listen to them. They suck big time.

Okay I'm done with my idol ranting now. I'll wait and see what happens tomorrow night.

And BONES is back, yea!!!! I hate when they don't show BONES!

Reptiles anyone?

LOL okay so the NC Reptile and Exotic Animal Expo was today. We went and had a great time! We got a couple of reptiles. Now we are all worn out. Even though we only stayed a short time. We saw monkeys, a baby ape, an alligator(yes it was alive but the mouth was taped shut.....) and we saw camels, a couple of baby bengal tigers(my faves!) some kitties for sale, some small ponies and sheep and such. Along with the snakes, spiders, roaches, frogs, lizards, birds(OMG there where birds everywhere!!!) It was interesting but we missed a couple of people who the website said would be there but we didn't see them.

Now I'm off to read and try to forget how much money hubby spent

Mini-vacations

Well I'm not sure if anyone else takes what I call mini-vacations or not, but my parents took me and the kids to the beach for the weekend and I call that a mini-vacation. My parents basically watched the kids. I got to just relax without worrying about them. While we didn't do anything beachy but shop and eat, the water was too rough and cold and it was too windy to fish from the pier. It was still nice to spend time with my parents and my brother.

I love going to the coast. No matter what the weather is like. It's just a peaceful place to me. And NC has some of the best beaches in the world!

Now it's back to reading, not that I'm complaining or anything
